The final coats of paint have been applied, the final pieces of furniture have been snatched from other rooms in the house, anything else desperately needed was purchased from the great cheap furniture Mecca, Ikea, and then...just like that My Room is done! How does it feel? LOVE IT! No longer do I have projects and supplies scattered throughout the house, no longer do my eyes strain under poor lighting, no longer are my projects interrupted and shoved aside to accommodate dinner or breakfast. It feels wonderful and liberating to have a space of my own.
Remember back in the day when you lived with your parents? You could close the door to your bedroom and it was your sanctuary from the world. Well, this is the adult version of that. Instead of posters and a boom box, it is stocked with my (new) sewing machine & Martha magazines. Supplies galore and fabric stacks are neatly organized (sort of) and ready to be pulled down at any minute to be transformed.
