All the rooms in our house are either painted blue or beige...the one exception is the red study. So when selecting a paint color for the craft room it was an easy decision to choose a light blue color (Benjamin Moore's *Summer Shower* to be exact). After applying the first coat of paint I started to have some major second thoughts...I should have selected beige! Just kidding about the beige, but unfortunately not about the second thoughts. The color I coveted was gray!
In a few of the latest home design magazines gray walls were being used to ground super sophisticated rooms. My favorite application of the color gray is Monique Lhuillier's home by Jennie Abbott Interiors. The article is from the Jan/Feb 2008 Elle Decor issue and a full slide show of Monique Lhuillier's Bel Air home is also available...Photographer: Roger Davies. Here is a highlight (love it!):
Alas, after the investment in the time to paint the first coat and money to buy the paint I decided to stick with my initial blue selection. I hope that I can create my own sophistication...grounded in rubber stamps and fabric piles and of course Summer Shower blue. Here is a look at the first coat and some intended pieces to be incorporated into the room.
