One of my favorite things to do is to put together a *gift basket*. It is a gift for the recipient, as well as a gift for me. For the recipient, a basket full of goodies evokes strong memories of Easters from yesteryear--the excitement of unpacking new + unexpected treats cannot be beat. For the giver, a gift basket is fun to pull together and easy to make look good.
If possible come up with a theme for the gift basket...when at a loss go for a color scheme. The contents in the basket should coordinate and re-enforce the theme. This is the fun part, because you do have to put in an effort to find items that the recipient will like AND will go with your theme. Another way to acquire items that go with your theme is to make them! A card is an easy project to do yourself. I love making cards with rubber stamps; they are versatile and can be used over and over again. Start amassing your rubber stamp collection today! I have two favorite sources for rubber stamps: Impress + Paper Source (AC Moore is decent too).
Once you have all the items purchased/made it is time to assemble the basket. This is where you get to see it all come together and my favorite part. Tissue paper, ribbon, a tie-on card + any other special element make your basket look great. Any recipient will be happy to get such a beautiful and thoughtful gift.

Beautiful gift basket. Hope I'll be able to get a gift like that from my sister, especially that her niece is soon to arrive. :)
