Yesterday was the boys' *Astronaut Space Mission* party...we had a blast! I am too tired to add much commentary, so please enjoy the pictures...
Guests were greeted by some 'Mission' gear and our cheerful Japanese Warrior....
The kids were sent on a Space Odyssey Mission. They had to solve riddles to find six keys needed to free the good aliens & complete the mission.
The good aliens...
We added simple decorations with orange festooning purchased from Oriental Trading Company. Three 25-foot packages were enough to do the Family Room and Breakfast Room...we used the same mini screw hooks & white thread that I use to do the Ceiling Love to create the canopy effect. To secure the ends of the festooning we just used tape. In the Breakfast Room the festooning is just resting on nails that were still there from the Christmas garland.
After a successful mission the astronauts got to stop at the AstroCantina for some goodies...here is a look at the cantina before the madness...
Another picture before the madness...
And some shots from during...
The moon cakes...
A. made some very noteworthy chocolate chip cookies from a recipe she found on the New York Times website. The article she got it from disclosed secrets for making the perfect CCC's...they turned out awesome...they looked great & tasted better...here is the link to the recipe.
Hubby put together a great playlist...unfortunately I didn't really hear it until afterward. Here is a few of my favorites:

After the party the boys opened their presents and 'rocked out' to the playlist.
