According to Martha, you can create your own wash with acrylic paint and water. She also suggests testing the wash on the inside of the basket before coating the outside--good thinking! Now I just need to decide on a color theme.

I think I'd test it out a little on the bottom first. That way it's easier to hide if you don't like the results. My baskets sometimes set out with stuff in them in such a way you can see part of the inside of the basket, making it harder to hide the results of a failed experiment.
Just a thought...
