My sister A gave me a lovely cake stand out of the blue. The new cake stand and a quiet Saturday morning was motivation enough for me to re-purpose a rarely used, glass-front kitchen cabinet with a bunch of my cake stands (and hobnail glasses). The newly organized cabinet was immensely gratifying. Chalk up one for my feeble forces of order and organization!

The cake stands came from a variety of places: the single ruffle stand is from Williams Sonoma; the three ruffled stands are from Crate & Barrel; the tall stand can be found at www.fishseddy.com; the bird & tree trunk stand from Target; and the eyelet stand from Harry & David. I would also recommend Martha's Whiteware Collection at Macy's. Her cake stands are my favorite 'White Elephant' gift, but sadly I have never come home with any.
