Baby O is turning one! It is hard to believe that almost a full year has gone by since the lil' guy came into the world. To celebrate his first birthday, A and I are planning a blue and orange *Robot Party*. In addition to the robot theme, there is a sub-theme of blue and orange banners. Allie actually sewed a bunch of banners to decorate for the party, they look so great. For the invitations we designed a simple long card with a robot holding a balloon standing under a banner garland. The back of the card is orange with white O's and 1's--this is a nod to bytes and bits, as well as, 'O' for Oliver and 1 for his soon-to-be age. The cards were mailed out in silver envelopes from Paper Source with address labels bearing the banner (a prelude to the invitation).

Hi Emily,
Thanks so much for your kind words. I started out using MS Word and Powerpoint to create my cards (the early V-day cards) are done this way. I have since graduated to Adobe Illustrator. To print my cards I usually print them on a laser color printer. If it is a special job then I will take to our Copy Center at work or to Kinko's.
Thanks Again!

Just wanted to say that I've been following your blog for some time and I always love how cute and professional your cards, invitations, etc. are!! I think you should definitely make them available on Etsy! Just wondering, what program do you use to design the cards, and do you print them at home? If so, what kind of printer do you use?
Thanks as always for posting details of your parties and events...I always look forward to seeing them! Also, looking forward to seeing the details for your boys' bday party!

K did a great job on the cards! I am trying to convince her to make them available on Esty. Although I am biased, I think the cards are fantastic! I would have been so excited if I found them online.
